Rev. Larry Trotter, Senior Pastor
Larry grew up in Sevierville, TN. He worked in the radio industry for a number of years before entering the ministry. He finished his undergraduate work at Tusculum College and earned his Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Larry previously served appointments at the Dutch Valley UMC and the Martel UMC, before coming to Concord UMC. Larry is married to Lynn and they have two daughters and three grandchildren.
Rev. Wil Cantrell, Associate Pastor
Wil joined us at Concord UMC after five years of serving as pastor of Lebanon Memorial United Methodist Church in Lebanon, VA. Wil’s driving passion is to help people live an authentic life while experiencing a real growing faith in Jesus Christ. Wil grew up in Knoxville prior to completing high school in Chattanooga, TN. He is a graduate of Emory & Henry College and Duke Divinity School. Wil served for 6 years as the associate pastor at Middlebrook Pike UMC before his appointment to Lebanon Memorial. Wil is married to Rebecca King Cantrell, and they have three children.
Rev. Glenna B. Manning, Pastor of Discipleship & Outreach
Glenna is a native Knoxvillian and graduate of Farragut High School. She earned a BS in Business Administration and an MS in Business Education from the University of TN, Knoxville. After enjoying nearly 20 years as a Business and Information Technology instructor in Knox County, Oak Ridge City Schools, and Roane State Community College, Glenna felt called to the vocation of ministry. She received her Master of Arts in Christian Ministries–Servant Leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. Glenna is an ordained deacon in the Holston Conference and currently serves as the Minister of Discipleship at Concord. Previously Glenna was appointed to Beaver Ridge UMC in the Karns community. She is married to Robin and they have two adult children.
Rev. Mike Stallings, Pastor of Worship & Arts
Mike grew up near Nashville, TN, but fell in love with the city of Knoxville while attending the University of Tennessee. Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Studio Music and Jazz. He studied at Middle Tennessee State University, receiving a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting in 1998. An opportunity to work as a television music composer for HGTV and the DIY Network brought Mike and his family back to Knoxville. He served as Director of Music at Kern United Methodist in Oak Ridge, then served as keyboardist in Concord UMC’s contemporary service. In 2008 he became the full-time Director of Music at Concord. Entering the ordination process, and completing courses through Asbury Theological Seminary, Mike was ordained as a Deacon in the United Methodist Church in 2015 and became Concord’s Pastor of Worship and Worship Arts in 2016. He is married to Claudia Garrison Stallings, and they have two children, Garrison and Jonathan.
Rev. Chris Luper, Pastor of Student Ministry
Chris is a native of southwestern Virginia, born and raised in the Wytheville District of the Holston Annual Conference. It was there that he first felt his call to full-time Student Ministry. Answering this call, Chris attended Emory & Henry College, before pursuing his Masters of Arts in Youth Ministry at Asbury Theological Seminary. Chris has served churches in both the Holston Annual Conference and Western North Carolina Annual Conference, before coming to us a Deacon in Full Connection. Chris comes to us from St Stephen UMC in Charlotte, NC where he led a large and vibrant youth ministry. He and his wife, Libby, have two daughters, Teaghyn and Anistyn.
