Standing On The Shoulders Of The Samaritan Woman – Rev. Larry Trotter
Scripture: John 4:7-29,39-42
The Samaritan woman found self-worth, purpose, and joy in Jesus’ acceptance of her and respect for her. She responded by leading many people to faith. Like the Samaritan woman, the value of our lives can be found not in our successes or failures, but in Jesus’ love for us. Like her, we are called to share our joy with the world.

    John 20:1-10
God knows how difficult it is to find hope when life casts a shroud of despair over our tear-stained face. The first steps must have been tentative and labored as Mary Magdalene walked to the tomb on that morning. The initial flush of hope likely began as confusion over the disorienting chain of events. The heavy stone was rolled away; the tomb was empty. What was happening? Where is Jesus’ body? One disciple believed, another didn’t. Yet. Hope was blooming in the darkness of their despair.

As excruciating as the physical pain Jesus endured, the spiritual and emotional pain of feeling separated from his Father in heaven was surely just as intense. God knows we sometimes feel estranged and wants to close the gap.
